Founded in 1592, HANEDA ShuzoShuzo is the place where alcohol is made, including sake. shuzo = brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Ōyama in the Tōhoku region of Yamagata Prefecture. In keeping with inherited traditions, they continue to meet the challenge of producing high quality sake during the harsh winter with the blizzard. Producing only JunmaiJunmai = pure, which means that the sake is normally without any added alcohol or chemical additives, going for small quantity, taking a lot of time to press the sake with the traditional press（Kibune） are their special features. The younger generation has returned to the brewery and is beginning to breathe fresh life into the tradition.
